How is
your self-esteem
Dr Nathaniel Branden, an expert in self esteem, says the changes and challenges
of today's workplace demand people with high self-esteem.
Also, high self-esteem is needed to make those numerous decisions that
lead to success.
Here are some questions, adapted from one of his
Tick Books, to help you - and your co-workers -
determine if you have high self-esteem. Answer YES or NO
1. Do you feel that you can really make a difference in your career and
life?
2. Do you say to yourself, "I don't like the way I am. I want to be
different"?
3. Do you think in terms of a "you versus me, win/lose" model
of human relationships?
4. Are you comfortable with unassertive - but not aggressive - behaviour
in yourself and others?
5. Are you comfortable in giving and receiving compliments, expressions
of affection, etc.?
6. In general, do you feel that other people and/or circumstances are primarily
responsible for your happiness?
7. Do you seek the acclaim of others to make you feel better about yourself?
Answers: The following answers indicate high self -esteem:
