to Motivate Your Staff |
Sure, employees want money, promotions and job security but there's
something else they want that is just as important something that can be
provided for a lot less than the cost of raises, promotions and job security.
It's simply this:
Employees want to know that employers have an interest in them. Here's
how to let them know:
- Notice the work they do and compliment them when it's good or
when it improves.
- Also notice work that really isn't up to their proper standard
and ask if there's anything you can do to help the situation.
- Chat with them occasionally and take an interest in their world-the
world in which they are the centre.
- Point out to them how important they are to the company and how
important it is that their jobs be done well.
- Ask their opinions about work problems they are familiar with
and give them a chance to express their ideas.
